A Koshi no Kanbai for today.
We pursued a meticulous balance of aroma and flavor, resulting in a new junmai ginjo sake that offers a soft, gentle, and straightforward drinking experience, with an elegant and mild fragrance. As the name Amane suggests (“wide open”),it is a sake that opens the world of Koshi no Kanbai to new, wide-open horizons.
Sake that brings "beautiful harmony."
As the core of Koshi no Kanbai has evolved in the years since its founding in 1907, we now ask ourselves what kind of sake is suited for the modern era. The answer we have found is Amane. The name of the current era, Reiwa, has been said to convey that "culture is born and nurtured when people move their spirits together in beauty." In that same sense, Amane can help create bonds between people, connecting them and allowing them spend quality time together. At the heart of this sake is our wish for it to foster such beautiful harmony.
A sake for new drinkers.
Smoothly flexible junmai ginjo Amane, with its unpretentious drinkability, is not only perfect for those new to sake drinking, but is also ideal for gatherings of all kinds to demonstrate the great flavor it can bring. We are confident in recommending it as a gift for a first-time sake drinker. You can enjoy it at any temperature, but we particularly recommend it around 15°C to allow it open up and release its aroma fully. Amane can pair with all kinds of cuisine, not just Japanese or Western, and elevating meals to new levels. We recommend it for those wanting to spend time relaxing with sake.
Dressed in fresh,
soothing green.
We hope that the fresh green bottle of Amane on a dinner table helps ease the hearts of guests, like a vase of flowers full of life and vitality. The intricate pattern embossed on the label represents Koshi no Kanbai's home of Kameda-go, which is surrounded by the Agano and Shinano rivers and the Koagano River that connects the two. This pattern is an expression of gratitude and respect for the local community that nurtures our sake with abundant good water and a cool climate. The golden pattern also symbolizes the abundant rice harvests of Kameda-go.
Tasting notes by sommelier Shinya Tasaki
Aroma
It has a gentle and elegant impression, with a rich, matured character at the same time. It ranges from the distinct impressions of steamed rice and cooked rice scents typical of junmai to cream cheese, sour cream, and a subtle aroma of cashew nuts, as well as faint hints of scents like banana cream or nata de coco, honeysuckle, and mineral notes reminiscent of a sea breeze, all in perfect harmony.
Flavor
It offers a balanced flavor with a refreshing, dry sensation, a feeling of liveliness, and elegant sweetness and umami from the low alcohol content. This well-balanced impression with a touch of softness continues through the finish thanks to the junmai nature. The finish leaves a sense of dryness and umami with a touch of minerality.
Drinking Recommendations
To savor the soft elegance, enjoy the first glass at around 12°C for a more refreshing impression. For the second glass and beyond, drinking at 15-16°C allows you to better appreciate the balance.
Pairing Recommendations
It enhances the elegance and creaminess of the flavors of dishes.
- Extra-creamy potato salad
- Pacific snow crab shabushabu hotpot
